Creative Website Design & Development
We typically approach creating a website for you by following these 4 steps:
- DISCUSSION PHASE - Free & No Obligation Consultation.
- DESIGN PHASE
- WIREFRAME PHASE
- IMPLEMENTATION PHASE
This is where we help you define your website requirements and importantly, allow you to get to know us before committing to the project and equally important, allows us to also get to know you and gain a better understanding of how you would like your website to look and function.
During our meeting, we will discuss two crucial requirements for any website which are, Domain Name Registration and Website Hosting Services. We are happy to arrange and manage these on your behalf if required.
If following our initial meeting with you, you wish to engage our services, we will produce documentation in support of the project and ask you to review them.
- Scope of Work - detailing all of the work required
- Quote - detailing Costs for each phase
- Service Agreement - contract for all proposed work and details of the required staged payments upon completion and acceptance of each project phase.
Once you have agreed to engage our services and we have both signed the Service Agreement, the project can then begin.
Our design work is bespoke and always carried out by ourselves. Based on the ideas that were discussed at our initial meeting with you, we will create a few different designs in digital form and arrange for you to review them. At this stage of the project, we are able to offer revisions to the designs.
Our aim at this early stage of the project is to 'fill you with confidence' in our work before committing to the next stage.
Only when a mutually agreed design has been selected, would we move onto the next phase.
If your original request was for a design only (you might have alternative plans for development), we would supply you with the artwork in digital form and conclude the project.
We can also offer our services to create a Company Logo for your business, if you don't already have one. In addition, we can design and produce business cards, office stationery and leaflets to match your website design.
The wireframe is where we define in more detail the website structure / framework. It depicts the layout of your web pages, including the navigational menus and how everything fits and works together. It doesn't detail styles and colours as these were defined in the design phase, but focuses on functionality.
For a relatively small and simple site, the Wireframe phase can be simply merged into the design phase, as its fairly clear what's needed.
This is where we take everything gathered from phases 1 & 2 and create a fully functioning website. A Content Management System (CMS) will be implemented on ALL websites to allow you or anyone you choose to quickly and easily maintain the content of your website via a password protected online editor.
A CMS will be implemented even for relatively simple 'Brochure Style' websites, rather than using in these cases, simple static HTML pages. The additional work required to setup a CMS far out ways the problems and probable lack of technical knowledge that a customer would inevitably encounter attempting to use a desktop editor to maintain the website content. The use of a CMS in these situations also future proofs the site. The CMS is much more than an editor and its powerful and versatile features may well be called upon if the site requires more functionality in the future.
We have tested many of the leading Content Management Systems and have a strong understanding of their differing strengths. This means your website will be built on the Content Management System that is right for you.
